To get where we are, a number of partnerships and affiliations have played a major role and continue to be involved in our everyday work.
RAU is a local chapter of the International Literacy Association (ILA). The ILA, a global network of individuals and institutions that has existed since 1956, is committed to worldwide literacy and currently with more than 60,000 members.
Reading Association of Uganda has established local reading councils in a drive to extend literacy development across all regions in Uganda. Local councils include:
- Arua Reading Council
- Lira Reading Council
- The Reading Council of Central Uganda
American Peace Corps Volunteers, with whom we co-hosted a reading workshop at Nakaseke Primary Teachers College.
Book Aid International, with whom we donated books to a number of schools where reading tents were held.
Swedish Development Agency (SIDA), formerly out biggest donors who enabled us to donate books to schools where we held reading tents.
